Planning:
The next important step after assessment is what I’m planning to do in the procedure. I remember I had a 45 yours old patient who drink a lot of tea which caused her to have a generalized brown exogenous stain in maxillary and mandibular arch.
My plan was to use cavitron then hand scaling and use explore to evaluate my work after. After I did all that, I was still seeing some stain in her teeth, so I had to go back and use cavitron again. I ended the procedure by polishing the teeth with moderate then fine paste.
In the second semester of my dental hygiene school, I had a patient that was a bruxism. The patient was never been told about it or the consequence of it even through it seems like it was there before from her previous x-ray. I decided to make a plan for the patient to start wearing a mouth guard to protect her teeth from future progression in the surface of the tooth structure. I also suggested for her to stay away from the things that stress her out and cause her to clench her teeth by trying yoga or different exercise for example to calm her down.
